First, excuse the southern in me y’all but this is exactly what I asked one of my girlfriends when she told me she was all of the above about an upcoming event in her life. To be frank, she had every right to be. As she started to dive into why she was stressed, worried and scared I asked her “well… whatchu thinkin bout?” followed up with “is it always the thing your most afraid of?” She paused to think about it and replied “…yes”.
Sadly, she’s not alone. Why do we do this? It’s so natural for us to immediately go to the worst possible outcome. Why is it easier for us to believe the possibility of the absolute worst happening to us opposed to the best possible outcome? Do we feel that we are not deserving of the best? Is it us subconsciously preparing ourselves so the worst doesn’t hurt as bad if it comes to fruition?
We don’t hear from our significant other…
BOOM they’re cheating!
We have a nagging cough and think…
“I GOT BRONCHITIS”
No one responds to you in the group chat and you
think they must be all talking in another group chat without me…
Okay you may be right about that last one maybe you’re annoying and no one likes you.
While the last one may be plausible I highly doubt it’s true. If there’s one thing I’ve learned after deciding not to give nearly as many f*@ks is that worrying does nothing. It’s a waste of time. I have yet to see it change an outcome or make an outcome better. When I look back on all of the time I’ve spent worrying I realize it was time I spent focusing or manifesting something that I didn’t want. If I believe in manifestation and visualization as ways to create the life I want to live I have to give it the credit to also create the life I’m afraid of. My current and future state is whatever I feed it. I feed my state my thoughts. So again I ask, whatchu thinkin bout?
You are what you think you are. You will become what you think you will become. Change your mind from the negative and begin to manifest the happiness, success and life you want to live.
Peace and Love,
